This is a 40 plus hour POI that will provide each student with the technical knowledge necessary to select, and use digital cameras in support of law enforcement activities and special military operations, as well as select, purchase, and/or upgrade existing computer systems, which are to be used for digital imagery enhancement purposes. The students will receive instruction on how digital images are created, captured and transferred; and be introduced to various digital imaging storage mediums (CD's, cards, sticks and card readers). The students will then learn how to properly catalog, file and securely store digital images. Special instruction will also be given on how to take a digital picture(s) in the field, or while at the scene of a crime, download & process it as necessary, and then transmit the photograph, or video images to command level personnel.
This 5 day POI will provide the student with the fundamentals of photography being controlled in the use of today's DSLR's. Understanding the functions and camera familiarization to create the perfectly exposed image, avoiding additional post processing and editing time.
This is a 2 day POI teaching the variance of light levels in environmental photography and the importance of reading the available light. Obtaining the ability to work with lengthy shutter speeds in excess of the camera's parameters in order to create an image with a high amount of detail.
This is a 40 hour plus POI that will teach the surveillance officer or tactical close target reconnaissance (CTR) operator how to use digital still and video imaging equipment to consistently to produce high-quality evidence, or intelligence (analytical) photographs and video images. This is a heavy hands-on the cameras and computer course which not only teaches the student how to consistently take high-quality pictures, but also teach them how to download and encrypt the digital images on site and then how to transmit them securely via the internet to virtually anywhere in the world.
This one week, five day, sixty (60) plus hour POI will provide the attendees with the intermediate knowledge and additional hands-on-the-equipment skills necessary to use still and video digital imaging systems as well as special computer processing equipment and related techniques to consistently capture, store electrically process and produce high-quality, high definition digital images under widely variant lighting conditions in densely populated, semi-permissive, urban settings. This POI will have strong emphasis on the techniques required for those whom are responsible for creating intelligence briefings. It will also incorporate a series of carefully structured and progressively more difficult scenario-driven hands-on-the-camera practical exercises designed to replicate various "real world" environmental conditions and typical semi-permissive urban operational situations. The training will be conducted during the daytime and at night, well after the hours of darkness.
